– Excuse me, what? Wow, Hilton Als. You’re a motherfucking idiot. (via bestpicture1977) That may be the stupidest thing I’ve read today. I’m a white girl. I didn’t grow up in New York. I’m rounder because… I’m rounder? I wear layers because they’re...

How did I not know that there was a movie adaptation of Speak, which was my favorite book in middle school? And it has Kristen Stewart in it?

Unsinkable →
It may not be true that “the three most written-about subjects of all time are Jesus, the Civil War, and the Titanic,” as one historian has put it, but it’s not much of an exaggeration. Since the early morning of April 15, 1912, when the great liner went to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, taking with it five grand pianos, eight thousand dinner forks, an automobile, a fifty-line telephone...

Someone posted this last night and I clicked on it and left it open in a new tab on my browser to read later and I was a little drunk so I don’t remember who it was (sorry person I did not reblog, if you are following me and can see this now!) but yeah

Courtney Cooks.: New Blog! →
courtneycooks: Hey y’all, I made this blog over here, called Courtney Cooks. Here’s why: I’ve lived for 25 years without cooking anything more intense than frozen microwavable food, and this year I made it my New Year’s resolution to learn to cook, in case the apocalypse came or something and I would actually… I did this thing. It’s not actually much of a “cooking...

The Tangential: How to Graduate from a Hipster... →
thetangential: 1. Realize your mortality Maybe your dad has a heart attack, you get a dangerous STD or a friend dies of an overdose. Suddenly drinking marathons while watching Planet Earth and doing whippets doesn’t seem so funny anymore. Think about how dirty your sink is. Question yourself. 2. Grasp… oh no. this is happening and i didn’t even know it.

Things I should be doing right now: 1. Cleaning the kitchen, which was left in complete disarray after the stuffed eggplant incident. 2. Tidying up the living room and vacuuming up all the little balls of fluff Jax decorated the floor with. 3. Organizing my plan to become a master canner.  4. making my menu for next week. 5. making my budget for next week. 6. cleaning out the fridge. 7....

Things I have cooked this week:
1. shakshuka (twice!) 2. spicy sausage and sweet potato soup 3. 44 clove garlic soup ( I didn’t love this one, but oh well.) And tomorrow I will probably cook stuffed zucchini.  I know this is not really that impressive, but, y’all, I don’t cook. I have never cooked anything but casseroles. I know soup is the next step up from casserole, but still, LOOK AT HOW MANY VEGGIES....

Fourth Wave Feminism on Rizzoli and Isles →
I’m watching Rizzoli and Isles right now and…. I just have so many feelings, but I can’t sort them out. there’s this^^ and there’s also this but mostly I am just really really bothered by the stereotyping? and I’m trying to figure out if it’s something the show will grow out of (I’m 6 episodes in) or if I really want to stick with it for the long...

These past few days have been quietly habit forming. Chris hasn’t been around and neither have the Warlicks (my next door neighbors and dear friends), and I’ve been repeating the same actions after work every day (come home, walk dog for a while, clean for 20 minutes, cook myself something I’ve not tried before, some small social activity like watching TV or having a neighbor by,...
